Important Notes:

  • Placement exams in English and Math required before registration of classes. (Foreign Language is optional).
  • English 1550 and 1551 must be completed by 62 semester hours.
  • FNLG through level 2600 required unless satisfied through placement exam.
  • A grade of "C" or better is required in the major and minor.
  • Courses in major cannot satisfy GER domains.
  • At least two departments must be used to satisfy each GER domain. AL+SI+NS must equal a minimum of eight classes; hence the pattern may be 2-3-3, 3-2-3, 3-3-2. Domains may be taken in any order.
  • All non-science majors must take A&S 2600 unless they fulfill the laboratory requirement through substitute courses.
  • Intensive courses required: 2 writing "W"; 2 critical thinking "T" 1 oral intensive "O".
  • Classes taken or repeated out of sequence will not be counted toward graduation. Check prerequisites!
  • The residency rule states that the last 30 SH must be completed at YSU, including the last 16 hours in the major and the lst 21 upper-division hours.
  • Request for senior evaluation form must be filed by 85 SH.
